Women's Fashion Footwear: 9 Shoes You Must Have

If you're like most women, you have dozens upon dozens of sandals, sneakers, loafers, flip-flops, boots, and other footwear. But how many of them do you love? Really love? How many fit well, complement your fashion sense, and are versatile enough to serve multiple purposes? Moreover, how many of these shoes do you really need? You may be surprised to learn that the following nine must-haves are the only styles required to create a shoe wardrobe so all-encompassing, so perfect, that no matter what the occasion is, you'll have just the right shoe.

1. Two or three pairs of expensive-looking shoes for a work. Study what your boss is wearing then get yourself two great-looking pairs of similar shoes. Not only will you always look appropriate and stylish. you'll always have a pair clean and ready should one need to go to the cobbler. Need style suggestions? Go with pumps. Not only are pumps flattering and easy to wear, they are the quintessential woman's work shoes, especially for those working in offices, banks, or upscale shops. Opt for a dark or medium neutral. Think black, chocolate, cordovan (an old-fashioned word for cherry-kissed brown), or even burgundy, navy, or charcoal.

2. One warm-weather work shoe. Your best bet is a two-part pumpor one with peep toes in a light shade such as tan, beige or dove gray.

3. One pair of slingbacks in a neutral shade. They look chic with straight skirts and classic-cut trousers. They can be worn with bare legs or opaque winter stockings. Plus, they work well with formal and near-formal wear, they add sophistication to jeans, and instantly dress up a denim skirt and cardigan like nothing else can.

4. One pair of strappy dress sandals to wear with formal or semi-formal attire. They can sex-up a pair of jeans, too. Best colors: a mid-tone or pale neutral, including metallics such as silver or gold.

5. One pair of neutral-colored casual shoes for weekends. A woman can never go wrong with classics such as oxfords, moccasins, loafers, or clogs.

6. One pair of attractive athletic shoes. Theyre good-enough-looking for your Juicy Couture tracksuit, yet hard-working enough to perform at the gym.

7. One pair of fashion boots in a medium or dark neutral. Something classic enough for work-wear yet sexy enough to add an edge to jeans and an everyday tee. Top-of-the-calf boots with a flat heel are one of the cold weather seasons hottest looks, but are surprisingly in-demand even as the weather grows warmer.

8. Two or more pair of casual, warm weather shoes in a pale neutral or fashion color. Think sandals, ballet slippers, or flip-flops done up in a dressy material like leather. Consider yourself a die-hard fashionista? Find a pair of espadrilles with a low to medium heel. Espadrilles are one of 2006's most coveted warm-weather trends.

9. One pair of galoshes or other weather-protective footwear. If you spend a good amount of time outdoors, go with two pairs . Be sure one is a classic style, such as Hunter Wellingtons in navy, green, red, pink or pale blue.

So ladies, clean out your closets, and stop spending money on shoes you don't absolutely love or that does not fit well, complement your style and is not versatile to serve multiple purposes. If you follow the above tips you will create a woman's fashion footwear wardrobe, that no matter what the occasion is, you will have the perfect shoe.

London Fashion Shows

We are consistently being presented with various advertisement gigs that portray what famous celebrities are wearing and this has a direct impact on our lives. While shopping for clothes, a typical teenager would often say, “I want a dress that resembles what Bono was wearing in his latest music video”. Today, fashion dictates our lives and what we wear. Whether it is at a party or at work, we want our dress to reflect our taste and attitude. On other occasions, we are keener on making a personal style statement.
No lucid citation can be made regarding the advent of the London fashion culture. It dates back to the period during the Hippie culture which was originally a youth movement that began in the United States. It started during the 1960s and spread all over the world. This was probably one of the first major fashion influence that the world had witnessed. Hippie fashions and values had a profound impact on global culture and influenced major areas such as television, film and popular music. One such example was the use of homemade tie-dyed t-shirts that had become very popular.
The end of the Second World War had some more revolutionary fashion changes in store.During the 1930s, actresses Katharine Hepburn and Marlene Dietrich were often photographed wearing trousers and this made trousers more acceptable for women.By the end of the war, women had experienced a sense of independence, were experiencing their own individuality and were more liberalized. This allowed the women to fight for their rights and influenced a change in what they started to wear. Gradually, this had an impact on the women of London. They became wary of the fashion culture and became susceptible to change in what they wore.
During the early to mid 1970s, “Punk” originated as a style in London from the designer Vivienne Westwood and her partner Malcolm McLaren. Nonconformist and postmodernist in its nature and essence, this resulted from the economic depression that was prevalent during this period in London.
When it comes to fashion, London is one of the fashion capitals of the world. The others being Milan, Paris and New York City. London now hosts a plethora of London Fashion Events with the London Fashion Week event being most popular. A bi-annual event, the London Fashion Week now forms part of one of London’s leading events attracting a target audience comprising of eminent fashion personalities, retailers and press. The London Fashion Week is held several months in advance of the season so that the press and the prospective buyers are given a chance to preview the fashion designs in advance, for the subsequent season. The governing body for fashion in London is the British Fashion Council or the BFC.

Easy Beauty and Fashion Tips

Skin care plays an important role in looking and feeling good. Remember to wash your face every morning and in the evening. As a rule of thumb, do not sleep with makeup on and completely wipe it off even before washing and toning your face. Applying moisturizer and toner are habits that you should also develop so your skin will always be soft and smooth.
When applying makeup, remember to wash your face as well first. Choose makeup that is oil-based when you have dry-skin and choose water-based makeup when you have oily skin. When choosing the shade for your foundation, choose one that is one shade lighter than your skin tone, because the foundation tends to get darker once applied to skin, suiting your shade perfectly. Remember that makeup is there to highlight your good features and minimize the defects, and not to drastically change your look – unless of course it’s for a photo shoot or an artistic requirement. Try not to wear too much makeup during the day and save it for evening dates and other formal events.
Choose various shades for your clothes. While it would be safer to fill your closet with shades of browns or plain black and whites, try adding a few more lively and bright colors to your ensemble because a little color and a little accent goes a long way in updating your wardrobe. For the classics, every woman has to have a decent pair of jeans for casual nights, and a plain long-sleeved white top for business affairs. The classic little black dress is also required in every ladies’ wardrobe.
What every woman should have as well are two decent pair of shoes – some black high-heeled leather shoes that are very comfortable and can pair with any business or evening dress and some casual and dependable shoes for those casual night outs.
Looking good and feeling good work hand in hand. When you look good, you feel good, and also when you feel good and positive, it will show as well. Your attitude will show your true beauty and it will be reflected with how you take care of yourself and the fashion statements that you make. Most importantly, as they say, your smile is the most important accessory that you can have and it comes for free.
